Another amazing winery in Carema.
First vintage is 2015. 50 parcels of vineyard, and the total surface is 1.5 hectare. ( I cannot imagine how hard the harvest time would be… I might have to come to see it 🤭) Mostly in pergola method and with chestnut pillars, which is solid and practical. The average age of vineyard is around 50 years old and 300-600 meters above sea level.
The Wine list we have tasted:
-Lasu 2021. Add 5-10% Erbaluca (co-fermentation), skin contact for 1.5-2months.
-Carema Susie 2020. A blend of all 20 vineyards. Let’s say it’s traditional Carema.
-Carema Patlù 2020. High attitude of 450-500meters, the alcohol level is higher since the sun exposure is better. And it’s the first vintage of this wine.
-Carema Riserva 2018.
-Fileura. Erbaluce 2019+2020
When Federico asked me what I like the most: the Burgandy or Barolo?
I said: “The Elegance of Carema.”
He does make elegant wines, and it’s super high quality.
